Today the Airbus Military A400M new generation airlifter has received its Type Acceptance at the contractual Initial Operating Clearance (IOC) Standard from OCCAR

The first production A400M new generation airlifter made its maiden flight on 6 March 2013, marking a key milestone towards its delivery to the French Air Force. 

On 13 November 2010 the A400M Programme Manager (PM) Bruno Delannoy jumped from the A400M aircraft, as part of a group of 10 parachutists from various nationalities, and including Tom Enders (Airbus CEO). This jump was not part of any particular test as the official jumping test took place some days before. All was prepared for last Saturday morning in a place called La Juliana which is a drop zone surrounded by olive trees near Seville. The weather, as usual in Seville, was perfect for a jump. 

The MSN001, the first A400M prototype, landed on Tuesday 09 March in a very cold afternoon, in the runways of Toulouse Airport, in a direct flight from Seville (Spain). The aircraft is heavy instrumented with 22 tonnes of Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI). MSN001 new home will be Hangar M90 in Airbus St Martin-du-Touch premises, near Toulouse, where will continue with the flight test campaign. So far 10 flights and almost 40 hours of flights have been made.
