The European MALE RPAS Programme Division (MRPD) has placed a contract with the German Air Navigation Service Provider – DFS Aviation Services (DAS) – on a Preliminary Safety Assessment. The objective of the safety assessment is focused to provide resilient results and figures for the integration of the European MALE RPAS in segregated and non-segregated airspaces.
The European MALE RPAS (Medium Altitude Long Endurance Remotely Piloted Aircraft System) has successfully passed its System Requirements Review (SRR) in January 2018. The successful SRR also initiates the second phase of the definition study, which will lead to a consolidated preliminary design.
In August 2016, the contract for a Definition Study of the European MALE RPAS (Medium Altitude Long Endurance Remotely Piloted Aircraft System) Programme was awarded by OCCAR to Airbus Defence and Space GmbH, Dassault Aviation and Leonardo S.p.a..
OCCAR, on behalf of the ESSOR Participating States, signed on 12 January 2016 an agreement with the Wireless Innovation Forum for the exchange of information in order to support the harmonization of the Software Communications Architecture (SCA) standards at an international level.
