OCCAR Director visited FEINDEF in Madrid

On 03 and 04 November 2021, the OCCAR Director visited FEINDEF 2021 in Madrid, a defence industry conference organised by the Spanish MoD.

The Director met with different representatives from Industry, such as Tecnobit, Navantia, Leonardo, Fincantieri, Airbus and highlighted the importance of industrial cooperation between the big industrial players and SME’s.

The Director also met with the Spanish Secretary of State for Defence, Ms Esperanza Casteleiro, and exchanged status updates on MALE RPAS and Tiger.

On 04 Nov, the Director participated in a discussion panel with Mr François Arbault from DG DEFIS and Mr Emilio Fajardo from EDA on the key factors for achieving strategic autonomy in terms of building the defence European Industry.

FEINDEF was also an opportunity for the Director to meet the Spanish NAD, Adm. Santiago González Gómez as well as the Spanish BoS Representative, Rear Admiral Nicolas Monereo Alonso to share the strategy for the forthcoming programmes where Spain is involved.
