First certification activities with EASA started for Eurodrone engine


Hallbergmoos, Germany, 07  February, 2024 -  The MALE RPAS PD hosted the kick off meeting with EASA to detail the necessary activities to certify the Eurodrone engine.

The Eurodrone will integrate the Catalyst engine produced by AVIO AERO, fully ITAR free and produced in Europe, that is planned to receive a full civilian certification released by EASA.

At the meeting participated representatives from ADS GmbH, as prime contractor, ADS S.A.U. as engine integrator, AVIO AERO, as engine manufacturer, EASA representatives, as certification authority, the nation’s Certification experts and OCCAR staff as contracting authority. 

During the meeting the major milestones have been highlighted and analysed on the road to release the type certificate of the engine from EASA.
