Second batch BOXER Production contract awarded

The contract for a second batch of BOXER vehicles for Germany was signed on 18 December 2015 at the OCCAR-EA headquarters in Bonn by the original equipment manufacturer ARTEC GmbH and OCCAR. Germany was represented at the event by Mr. Harald Lichtmess from BAAINBw, the German representative on the BOXER Programme Committee.

The contract includes production and delivery to Germany of another 131 BOXER vehicles in the Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) version. These additional vehicles will provide an important improvement to the capabilities of the German Infantry. First vehicles are planned to be delivered in 2017 and last vehicles in 2021. The second batch increases the number of APC vehicles to 256, the number of German BOXER vehicles to 405 and the total number of German and Netherlands BOXER vehicles to 605.

The second batch contract was prepared in a short timeframe during 2015 in close cooperation between OCCAR-EA, the German Official Services and ARTEC.
