OCCAR participation in the 6th edition SEAFUTURE
From Tuesday 19th of June to Saturday 23th of June, the 6th edition of the SEAFUTURE took place at La Spezia Navy shipyard.
SEAFUTURE is an exhibition and business convention organised by A.I.A.D. (Federazione Aziende Italiane per l'Aerospazio, la Difesa e la Sicurezza), Italian Blue Growth (I.B.G.), Regione Liguria, Blue Hub in collaboration with Italian Navy.
SEAFUTURE was held in an exhibition area of about 9.000 square meters inside the Naval Station of La Spezia, and presented an excellent opportunity for Industries to showcase new products. Many technological maritime innovations were introduced in a large number of stages and workshops. This year the event has gained an international profile thanks to the participation of about 140 exhibitor industries and more than 40 foreign navies delegations from all over the world.

Furthermore, the 6th edition has been enriched by a panel held on Friday the 22nd and organised by FREMM Programme Division to promote the OCCAR's role in the Defence procurement field. The conference focused on the relationship between OCCAR and NAVARM (Italian Naval Armament Directorate) in the management of Naval programmes, describing the advantages deriving from the integration of a programme into OCCAR.

The presentations, held by OCCAR’s and NAVARM’s Directors, were followed by a round table, chaired by Mr. Michele Nones, Scientific Advisor of IAI (Istituto Affari Internazionali) with the participation of Mr. Arturo Alfonso Meiriño, Vice Admiral Matteo Bisceglia and Italian Defence industry representatives, who highlighted the key role of OCCAR in the management of defence programmes and the importance for European States to extend the cooperation with such an efficient International Organisation.
