OCCAR-EA Director presented to NAD Steering Board (SB) at EDA in Brussels

On 16 March 2023, the OCCAR-EA Director presented OCCAR to the NAD Steering Board (SB) at EDA in Brussels.

The Director emphasized the need for increased cooperation in the European defence arena and invited all non-Member States to envisage signing framework and security agreements with OCCAR to allow future easy access to OCCAR Programmes.

He explained that the Ministers of Defence of the Member States have requested him to contact the NADs of the EU to explore such cooperation.

Following the NAD SB meeting, EDA and OCCAR met for the periodical bilateral exchange of thoughts on how closer cooperation can be achieved.

The Director offered to investigate all opportunities within the legal boundaries of the OCCAR rules and regulations and within the agreements with EDA.
