OCCAR Director hosts meeting at U212 NFS PD premises in Rome

On 29 November 2021, at the U212 NFS (Near Future Submarine) Programme Division premises in Rome, the OCCAR Director hosted a meeting with representatives of the Italian Ministry of Economic Development (MISE), namely Benedetto MINEO, General Secretary, and Mario FIORENTINO, General Manager of the Directorate-General for Industrial Policy, Innovation and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises. The meeting was also attended by the Italian Naval Armament Director, VADM Massimo GUMA.

During the meeting, the Director presented the OCCAR organization and provided an overview of the Programmes portfolio. He focussed on the U212 NFS Programme, the ongoing relationships with International Partner Organisations (in the Defence Cooperation Framework) and future opportunities.

All the participants underlined and appreciated the opportunity to share ideas and opinions on the new technologies being developed and aiming at boosting innovation and competitiveness on a dual use perspective in the European defence environment.
