NVC Programme Integration activities started
On 9 July 2019 the OCCAR Board of Supervisors approved the assignment of the Night Vision Capability (NVC) Programme to OCCAR for management purposes. This milestone marked the formal start of the Programme Integration phase.
The NVC Programme is a bilateral collaborative Programme for the production and optional in-service support of night vision goggles in a first stage of the Programme. Belgium and Germany are the prospective participating states, and they welcome the future participation of other nations in the Programme.
Two of the main outcomes from the Programme Integration phase will be:
- A negotiated Programme contract, let by a competitive tendering procedure in accordance with OCCAR rules;
- A Programme Decision signed by Belgium and Germany which formally assigns the Programme to OCCAR and commits the resources required for the management of the Programme.

With the signature of the Programme Decision, the OCCAR-EA Director is authorised to sign the negotiated Programme contract on behalf of Belgium and Germany. Contract signature is currently planned for mid-2021.
In preparation of the tendering procedure, OCCAR-EA will publish the advertisement of the possible future purchase on this website under "Business Opportunities" and invite industry from all European Union Member States to register their interest. The advertisement is currently planned for early September 2019.
