The PPA Programme integrated the first two X-Band fixed sensor arrays (faces) of the new Dual Band Radar (DBR) X/C at the test bed in Pratica di Mare airfield in time for the Christmas festivities.

The first sea going of the "Vulcano" Logistic Support Ship was conducted on the 5th December in the Gulf of La Spezia successfully.

PPA1, named after “Paolo Thaon di Revel”, sailed its first nautical miles in the blue waters of the Gulf of La Spezia on 12th Nov 2019.

Fincantieri will build the forward sections of the French LSS vessels for the French Navy based on the Italian "Vulcano" design.

The Italian group has been awarded an order from Chantiers de l' Atlantique (CdA) for the construction of the four French vessels' forward sections.
