On 29 May, the French Minister of Defense, Mme Florence Parly, was presented the progress of the Maritime Mine Counter Measures (MMCM) programme in Brest, France.

The launching ceremony of the second PPA was held on the 22nd May 2020 at the Fincantieri Shipyard in Riva Trigoso – Genova. The ship has been named after Francesco Morosini, 108th Doge of the Serenissima Republic of Venice and General Sea Captain of the Venetian Fleet (1688 – 1694). 

The work program on the 2nd Multipurpose Blue Water Patrol Vessel (PPA) ‘Francesco MOROSINI’, under construction in the Fincantieri’s shipyard at Riva Trigoso, has re-started, with great impulse, in compliance with the prescriptions for preventing Covid-19 spread.

The French Minister for the Armed Forces, Mme. Florence Parly, led the first steel cutting ceremony” of FLL LSS on 18 May 2020 in the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard, marking the official launch of the production of the First of Class (FOC) and unveiling the baptism names of the LSS series.
