OCCAR-EA has awarded a contract on behalf of Belgium and Germany for the procurement of Night Vision Goggles (NVG) to the Consortium of Hensoldt Optronics GmbH and THEON Sensors SA. The contract is the result of a Europe-wide competition with a strong field of tenderers. The contract was signed by the Director of OCCAR-EA and representatives of industry on 22 June 2021 at the OCCAR premises in Bonn.

The Transfer of Title of the first MMF aircraft was signed on 29 June in Getafe, Spain.

Due to more nations participating in the Multinational MRTT Fleet (MMF) programme and of the number of aircraft to be procured, NSPA and OCCAR have revised the Cooperation Agreement  originally signed in 2014 for the management of the programme.

Germany and Norway officially joined the European/NATO programme to acquire Airbus A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport aircraft along with Netherlands and Luxembourg.
