OCCAR-EA has awarded a contract on behalf of Belgium and Germany for the procurement of Night Vision Goggles (NVG) to the Consortium of Hensoldt Optronics GmbH and THEON Sensors SA. The contract is the result of a Europe-wide competition with a strong field of tenderers. The contract was signed by the Director of OCCAR-EA and representatives of industry on 22 June 2021 at the OCCAR premises in Bonn.

The LSS programme achieved an important milestone with the keel laying ceremony of the first Logistic Support Ship (LSS) “Jacques Chevallier” for France. The event took place at the Fincantieri naval shipyard in Castellammare di Stabia, close to Naples on 10 February 2021.

A further important target in the Logistic Support Ship (LSS) Programme has been successfully achieved with the keel laying of the aft part of the ship. The respective ceremony took place at FINCANTIERI shipyard in Riva Trigoso (Genova) on 12th July.
