On 30th September 2016, the Italian FREMM frigate “Alpino”, so called in honour of the “Alpini” Corps of the Italian Army, was delivered by OCCAR to the Italian Navy.

On 26th September 2016, the fourth of class French Navy’s ASM (Anti-Submarine Warfare) FREMM multi-mission frigate “Auvergne” successfully completed its first sea going in Lorient.

In August 2016, the contract for a Definition Study of the European MALE RPAS (Medium Altitude Long Endurance Remotely Piloted Aircraft System) Programme was awarded by OCCAR to Airbus Defence and Space GmbH, Dassault Aviation and Leonardo S.p.a..

Operational premiere: On 12 April, a French TIGER HAP helicopter of the 5th Combat Helicopter Regiment was transferred in an A400M from Gao (Mali) back to its home base in Pau (France). The complete helicopter transport was performed within 24 hours, including a stop in Niamey (Niger).
