Italian Ship (ITS) Rizzo, the 6th Italian FREMM frigate, took part in the exercise Formidable Shield 2017, held in the North Sea next to Scotland from late September until mid-October.

On 11th April 2017, the French FREMM ASW (Anti Submarine Warfare) Follow on Ship “Auvergne” was accepted by OCCAR on behalf of the Direction Générale de l’Armement (DGA) - the French defence procurement agency - and delivered to the French Navy.

On 10th April 2017, the Italian FREMM frigate Bergamini achieved the Final Qualification of the SAAM-ESD (Surface Anti Air Missile - Extended Self Defence) system by successfully carrying out the second ASTER 30 firing of the FREMM Programme.
