Theon Sensors Belgium Subsidiary Inaugurated


Zaventem, /Belgium 31 March 2026 – The OCCAR-EA participated in the inauguration ceremony of Theon Sensors Belgium. The founding of the subsidiary in Belgium is part of the Infrared Clip-on Device (IRCOD) Contract which was signed on 24 September 2025. OCCAR-EA in line with the procurement procedure, secured requirements regarding a Belgian industry workshare and a transfer of technology.

The inauguration ceremony is a major milestone of European defence cooperation and strengthens the defence industry of Belgium in particular.  Mr. Christian Hadjiminas-Bosch, the CEO of Theon Sensors International, welcomed Mr. Theo Francken, the Minister of Defence of Belgium, representatives from the participating programme nations and the contracting authority OCCAR-EA. 

More than 5,500 IRCOD Sets will be manufactured in Belgium and delivered to Belgium and Germany with assistance of the local businesses. The companies will be involved in the In-Service Support of the IRCOD as well. Serial production deliveries are scheduled to start end of May 2026, shortly after the inauguration.
