Successful Workshop with Japan and Participating States on Eurodrone Concept of Operation and System Capabilities Completed


Hallbergmoos/Germany, 19-20 September 2024 - In the context of the Japanese participation as an Observer State in the Programme, the OCCAR MALE RPAS Programme Division hosted a workshop on Eurodrone System Capabilities and Concept of Operation.

During the first session of the workshop, the Japanese delegation from the ATLA (Acquisition, Technology & Logistic Agency) and the Maritime Office of the Japanese Ministry of Defence received a full presentation from Airbus GmbH, prime contractor in the Programme, on the latest achievements and design status of the system. 

The delegation was able to get a deep dive into many significant technical details and the possibility to explore the physical design of the system through the Digital Mock Up tool (DMU).

During the second session, OCCAR operational experts and nation operators provided a comprehensive analysis of the Eurodrone Concept of Operation and supported a fruitful exchange experience with the Japanese delegation.

The Japanese delegation appreciated the information provided and the level of maturity of the programme expressing their strong interest in the capability.
