OCCAR-EA Director visits BOXER Production Line at Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL)

Telford, UK 18 October 2023, - OCCAR-EA Director, Mr. Joachim Sucker, visited the BOXER Production Line at Rheinmetall BAE Systems (RBSL) in Telford, UK. The Director was hosted by Mr. Philip Simon, RBSL Operations Director, and met with key BOXER industry programme personnel to discuss RBSL’s approach to setting up a new UK production line for BOXER. This was accompanied with a visit of the site and facilities to observe progress and discuss future plans. Dr. Alexander Abeler, MD of ARTEC GmbH and the OCCAR-EA Boxer Programme Manager, Ms Alexandra Alonzi also joined the visit to the RBSL production facilities.

The Director was able to view the end-to-end production line and to see BOXER vehicles in various stages of production. The visit allowed a collective discussion between the UK customer, OCCAR-EA and Industry partners to promote collaborative working and to provide common focus on the key upcoming delivery of the first UK-produced BOXER vehicle.
