6th LSS Contract Amendment Signed for Italy

Riva Trigoso, November 24, 2023 – The OCCAR-EA Director, Mr. Joachim Sucker, along with Mr. Dario Deste, the General Manager of Fincantieri Naval Vessels Division, officially signed the 6th LSS Contract Amendment on behalf of Italy. 

With this amendment, various fundamental aspects of the LSS Programme will be improved, with the approval of significant engineering and commercial change proposals.

Specific technical aspects will be enhanced, with a particular emphasis placed on Telecommunications and Internal Networking Systems, capitalizing on the experience gained from the operational deployment of LSS1. The logistic domain will also be affected by this amendment, with activities aimed at improving the operational capabilities of LSS1 in the short term and LSS2 in the future.

Ultimately, through the successful cooperation between Italy and France, two major European key players in the Naval domain under OCCAR’s aegis, a strong fleet of six LSSs will be delivered, four for France and two for Italy, with a third one for Italy in option.
