OCCAR has a new Head of Corporate Support Division since the beginning of June. Mr José Emilio Besteiro replaces in the post Mr Geert Vanlinthout, whose contract, according to OCCAR personnel regulations, came to an end in May.
Mr Besteiro comes from the Spanish Underdirectorate for International Relations within the National Armaments Directorate (DGAM). He has extensive experience in the tasks associated to the position, gained in various posts in the ES Navy and more recently in the DGAM.

Mr Besteiro has said "When I started working at the Spanish Ministry of Defence as a Focal Point for OCCAR four years ago , I got to know OCCAR in depth, an organisation that I had always admired for its efficiency and the professionalism of its workers.
Therefore, I am truly excited to become part of the OCCAR family , in which I hope to grow to be a useful, trusted and reliable Head of Division."
