New COBRA In-Service Support contract (2013-15) signed

The official signing of the new COBRA In-Service Support contract (2013-15) by OCCAR-EA Deputy Director Eric Huybrechts and Mr. Christoph Weber - Director Business Area Aviation from ESG GmbH took place during the last COBRA Programme Working Group meeting on 19th September 2012. The ESG team, representatives from the COBRA participating States (DE, FR, UK and TR) and all COBRA PD staff attended the ceremony which allowed ESG to present themselves to the Nations and take part in Q&A session with the Nations.
Following a competitive tendering exercise OCCAR has in August 2012 awarded a 3 year contract, with options for a further 2 years, for COBRA In-Service Support (ISS) to ESG Elektroniksystem und Logistik GmbH, Livry-Gargan-Strasse 6, 82256, Fürstenfeldbruck, Germany, under the contract reference No: CPD/001/21100/11.

COBRA Radar system
COBRA which has been In Service since 2005 is a long-range battlefield radar programme between Germany, France and Turkey. The land based weapon locating system, comprises of a high performance radar, with advanced processing and an integrated, flexible command, control and communication system. The design includes digital processing and an advanced active, solid-state phased array antenna comprising several thousand transmit/receive modules. The ISS Contract with ESG GmbH for a range of Standing and Ad-Hoc Tasks shall be effective from 01 January 2013.
