MAST Med Conference in Athens

On 02 November 2022, the Director participated in the Maritime/Air Systems & Technologies Mediterranean (MAST Med) Conference in Athens, Greece. He took part in the plenary discussion panel "Mediterranean Defence Industry: Policies, Plans, Procurement" where he explained the role of OCCAR in the EDIDP and EDF environment and answered various questions on how OCCAR can contribute to the development of Greek defence requirements.  The Greek National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister, Dr Dokos, provided a high level view on the grand strategy for procurements and challenges Greece sees for the foreseen future. A representative of the National Technical University of Athens, Prof Evangelos Hristoforou, presented some innovative solution to steel fatigue measurement as an example of how to bring together defence - academia and industry.
