Marceglia First sea going

The Italian FREMM frigate “Antonio Marceglia” had its First Sea Going in the Gulf of La Spezia on 19 June 2018, in line with the industrial scheduled timing. During the First Sea Going, several platform and Combat Systems elements installed onboard have been set up, turned on and tested successfully.

FREMM Marceglia is the eighth Italian Frigate and the fourth in the General Purpose (GP) configuration. This important milestone has been achieved thanks to the effective connection among Participating State, OCCAR-EA FREMM Programme Division and Industry.

Marceglia First sea going

Seven FREMM frigates have now been delivered to the Italian Navy (with “Martinengo” being the last one delivered on 24 April) and with other two ships under construction. According to the current plans, “Marceglia” will complete its sea trials in November 2018 and the delivery is scheduled in April 2019, in line with the contractual commitment.
