IT FREMM Through Life Sustainment Management (TLSM) Contract Amendment 1 Signature
Paris, 09 June 2021. The OCCAR Director and Orizzonte Sistemi Navali signed the Amendment 1 to the FREMM IT Through Life Sustainment Management (TLSM) Contract for the In Service Support of the Italian FREMMs at the OCCAR Premises in Paris.
Benefitting from the experiences achieved throughout the development of the initial In-Service Support Contract (Temporary Global Support), the TLSM Contract was signed in 2019. This provided, through a unique contract, In-Service Support for the Italian FREMM Frigates granting preventive and corrective maintenance for Platform and Combat System sub-systems, spare parts supply as well as deployment services using a Through Life Management approach.
This contract amendment includes the activation of the optional periods (Phase 3 and 4) in order to grant ISS services/activities up to June 2024. The amendment also includes some technical and commercial modifications introduced further to the lesson learnt after 2 years with the contract in place in order to continuously improve the FREMM ISS model to be possibly extended to the other IT Naval Programmes. Finally the Amendment introduces technical modifications to Italian ISS model to meet IT Nation’ needs as requested by Engineering Change Proposals approved by IT PS.
This Contract Amendment award is in line with the IT’s decision to maintain the FREMM ISS in OCCAR up to 2034, as agreed in the last MoU and ProgD amendments signed in December 2020. It further underlines the confidence that Italy has in OCCAR.
