Director meets Norwegian NAD and signs General Security Agreement with Norway

On 28 June 2023, the OCCAR Director Mr Joachim Sucker, met in the Norwegian capital Oslo with the Norwegian National Armaments Director, Mr Morten Tiller. Director Sucker explained that his visit is part of an information campaign requested by the Ministers of Defence of the six OCCAR Member States to approach possible European partners to sign a Framework Agreement with OCCAR. Mr Tiller expressed his gratitude for being able to present the Norwegian procurement system, industrial defence policy and areas of potential cooperation.

The presentations were followed by a signing ceremony whereat the OCCAR-EA Director and Brigadier Erlend Bekkestad signed the General Security Agreement with Norway. The document came into being following successful negotiations between OCCAR-EA and the Norway and are a further substantial step toward developing an enduring relationship between OCCAR and Norway.
