4th Insensitive Munitions (IM) Day

On 11 and 12 May 2022, OCCAR participated in the 4th Insensitive Munitions (IM) Day, organised by the Insensitive Munitions European Manufacturers Group (IMEMG) in Graz, Austria.

The purpose of the IM Day 2022  was to allow for different viewpoints to be aired and discussed around the interest of the Insensitive Munitions:

• Forces with their extensive operational feedback
• Regulation authorities, including standardisation and implementation
• Armaments agencies, including technical specifications and management of armaments programmes (NATO MSIAC, EDA, OCCAR, MoDs, ...)
• Industry including design, development, delivery and demilitarisation.

Hervé BENARD (OCCAR-MMCM Munition Officer), by chairing the user feedback session and leading the two Summary Debates each day, was able to promote the OCCAR's ability to manage complex cooperative programmes, particularly in the field of ammunitions.

The presence of the FR and UK regulation authorities highlighted the need to cooperate and work together on ammunition qualification, safety and interoperability  objectives.
