June 2018 Logistic Support Ship Launch A key milestone in the Logistic Support Ship (LSS) Programme was successfully achieved on 22 June 2018, with the launch of the new 27,200 full load displacement ship at Fincantieri’s Riva Trigoso shipyard. 21. April 2018 LSS Aft and Mid Sections Launched in Riva Trigoso Mid sections of the Italian Navy’s new Logistic Support Ship (LSS), named Vulcano, were launched on 21st April at the FINCANTIERI integrated shipyard in Riva Trigoso (Genoa).
