On 2nd September 2019, OCCAR EA Director Mr Arturo Alfonso Meiriño visited Saint-Nazaire OCCAR LSS PD premises, located in the “Chantiers de l’Atlantique” shipyard facilities. He was accompanied by Eng. Gen. Laurent Sellier, Director of the Naval Management Unit of the French “Direction Générale de l’Armement”.
As a result of the intensive work of the teams of Naval Group, its industrial partners, the French Navy, DGA and OCCAR, the 6th French Multi-Mission Frigate ASW (Anti-Submarine Warfare) Class FREMM Follow on Ship “Normandie” was accepted by OCCAR and delivered to the French Navy in agreement with the Direction Générale de l’Armement on 16th July 2019.
The delivery of the first two Lithuanian VILKAS Infantry Fighting Vehicles took place on 9 July in Vilnius, Lithuania. This is an historical milestone for the Lithuanian Armed Forces but also for OCCAR, as it demonstrates the level of support provided by the organisation to its customers be it OCCAR Member States or OCCAR Programme Participating States.
