On the 15th November 2019, the OCCAR Director visited the ITS Spartaco SCHERGAT, the ninth Italian FREMM (out of ten ships under contract). The outfitting of the frigate is being concluded at the Fincantieri Muggiano shipyard in La Spezia.  The aim is to deliver her to the Italian Navy in March 2020, fully on schedule and ready to be integrated with the rest of the fleet.

A meeting between the Italian Army and French Air Force, with the participation also of DGA, SGD and OCCAR representatives, was held on 8th to 11th of October 2019 at the 4th Anti Aircraft Artillery Regiment “PESCHIERA” premises in MANTOVA (ITALY).

As a result of the intensive work of the teams of Naval Group, its industrial partners, the French Navy, DGA and OCCAR, the 6th French Multi-Mission Frigate ASW (Anti-Submarine Warfare) Class FREMM Follow on Ship “Normandie” was accepted by OCCAR and delivered to the French Navy in agreement with the Direction Générale de l’Armement on 16th July 2019.

On 12th June 2019, at OCCAR-EA’s headquarters in Bonn , the Through Life Support Management (TLSM) Contract was signed by Orizzonte Sistemi Navali as the Prime Contractor and the OCCAR-EA Director on behalf of the Italian Participating State in the Programme.
