Following the recent successful conclusion to Global Rebaselining of the A400M Programme, another significant milestone was achieved, on 28 June, with the signature of the Global Support Step 2 contract between OCCAR-EA, on behalf of the A400M Participating States, and AMSL.
Airbus has for the first time formally delivered two A400M new generation airlifters to two different nations in one day. The company handed over the aircraft on 20 March to the European Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR), in charge of the management of the A400M Programme, representing Germany and France – at a ceremony in Seville, Spain.
On behalf of France and the United Kingdom (UK), OCCAR has awarded the Maritime Mine Counter Measures (MMCM) contract to Thales Underwater Systems, in collaboration with BAE Systems and their partners in France (ECA) and in the UK (ASV, Wood & Douglas, SAAB UK).
On 24 July 2014, the A400M MSN10 (4th A400M production aircraft and 3rd of France in service) was delivered. It is the fourth operational Aircraft with additional capabilities compared to the three previous ones such as fuel inserting system and improvements in the cargo systems and avionics.
